Special Gifts Help Summer Camp

Extravagant Generosity is a true trademark of the Texas Annual Conference members and churches. Lakeview continues to experience the outpouring of support by the generous gifts of friends and churches.

Recently, three gifts have made a wonderful difference for the summer camping program.  First, a gracious anonymous donor provided funding for 6 new fishing piers around Lake Oliphint.  Additionally, the gift included a pool cooler for Pool #1 to help make the pool a very comfortable and refreshing experience on our hot Texas summer days.

The second gift was given by the Mid-High campers of the North/Northwest District Camp.  Through a pass-the-hat collection, these young campers collected over $250.00 to go toward renovations at Camp Wesley.

Finally, through the tireless efforts of Rev. Jeff Gage who recruited numerous donors, Lakeview now has 3 fan/mister cooling stations to help keep campers cool.  Costing several thousand dollars, these cooling fans/misters have been a tremendous help in keeping folks cool and safe from the heat.

Such beautiful giving is both inspiring and helpful in continuing Lakeview's strategic planning for improved facilities and services.  We are grateful for the generosity of all who continue to enable ministry to children, youth, and adults.

Thank you!!!

Communion Offerings Help Retire Debt

The "Free Our Vision" Campaign of 2000 was hugely successful in replacing old buildings, improving other facilities, and adding new programs.  Amazingly, churches and individuals together completed 95% of their pledges to make this Lakeview's most successful capital campaign (click on the "Free Our Vision" tab at the right for the specific totals).

However, the remaining 5% of pledges needed to complete the projects was borrowed from the bank resulting in a debt that now needs to be retired.  The Board of Directors along with Lakeview Administration made a plea to the churches who so faithfully pledged to the campaign to help us retire this debt by designating one communion offering to Lakeview in 2010 .  So far, we have received several gifts from communion offerings.  These gifts along with other ongoing pledge payments are helping Lakeview reach our goal of retiring the debt.

Any churches or individuals interested in helping us with this project can send a gift to Lakeview and designate it to "Free Our Vision".
