Thanks to members of Hardin United Methodist Church, a special
piece of history has a permanent home at Lakeview. The
original church bell from the Lodi church in the North District
was given to Lakeview a couple of years ago. Since then,
the bell has sat on the porch of Peace Chapel where it was
admired and often rang by many campers. After their youth
group completed a work project to create new sidewalks around
Peace Chapel, Hardin UMC workers noticed the bell and decided it needed a
permanent home. And so church members got
together and constructed a beautiful tower.
Below are pictures of the bell and tower taken during the
erection and dedication on Saturday, March 14th. Members
of Hardin UMC joined some Lakeview employees for the ceremony in
spite of the rain and cold temperatures.
Thanks, Hardin United Methodist Church!
