with Jan
Hetherly
Jan has written a
helpful booklet “Silk, My Way”, a unique but effective
method for beginners to approach the art of silk painting.
You’ll learn how to properly prepare the silk for painting,
the proper mounting of silk on a stretcher, the difference
between painting with dyes or paints, and fun methods to get
your creative juices flowing, painting scarves, wall art,
and silk hand fans.
Jan has been a
pastel artist for over 25 years winning Best of Show and
First Place ribbons for her large floral pastels. But three
years ago she began her “love affair” with silk. The flow
of color on silk fascinated Jan, challenging her to wrangle
that flow creating beautiful scarves and wall art.
Many of the supplies
such as a stretcher, paints, brushes, silks, fans, etc.,
will be supplied
because they are mainly available on the internet only.
Items YOU will need to bring are indicated in the supply
